The Ghana Hajj Board has said that Ghanaian citizens who wish to take part in this spiritual pilgrimage will have to pay GH¢75,000 in advance of the much-awaited 2024 Hajj Pilgrimage to Mecca, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The announcement was made at a press conference held at the Hajj Village in Accra by the Chairman of the Board, Ben Abdallah Banda.

With expectations of over 4,000 Ghanaians participating in this year’s pilgrimage, the GH¢75,000 fee remains consistent with last year’s fare. Addressing the media, Chairman Abdallah Banda reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to ensuring a seamless and organized exercise for all participants.

“We are happy to announce that we are making good on our promise from last year. The cost of the package will remain the same, irrespective of any fluctuations in the value of the Cedi against the dollar. Pilgrims will not bear the gaps that have cropped up in costing the package,” said Abdallah Banda during the press conference.

Highlighting the importance of meeting the financial deadline, Banda mentioned that the payment deadline for the Hajj fare is set for mid-March 2024.

This deadline is crucial in facilitating various pre-Hajj activities, including the presentation of passports to the board, the issuance of visas, and the preparation of flight schedules to and from Saudi Arabia.

The Ghana Hajj Board assured the public that despite potential economic challenges, they are committed to providing a consistent and high-quality pilgrimage experience for all Ghanaians embarking on this sacred journey.

Pilgrims are urged to adhere to the payment deadline to ensure a smooth and well-organized Hajj Pilgrimage in 2024.
