The Church of Pentecost has effective Thursday, November 10, to Sunday, November 13, 2022, declared a four-day fasting and prayer for Ghana.

In a release signed by the Chairman of the church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the act is to ask God to grant the leaders of the state wisdom to resolve the economic challenges the country is going through.

Citing Jeremiah 29:7 and 1 Timothy 2:1-2, Apostle Nyamekye indicated it is bound on the church to intercede for the nation to restore economic sanctity for the citizens.

Read below the full release from the church:

Dearly beloved,

It is apparent that the country for some time now has been going through some economic challenges, which threaten the peace and security of the nation.

The church in times like this has a divine responsibility to intercede for the nation, as admonished in Jeremiah 29:7 and 1 Timothy 2:1-2.

In view of this, the Executive Council would like to declare a three-day (all-day) fasting and prayers, beginning from Thursday, 10th to Sunday, 13th November 2022, under the theme text, Ezra 8:23.

The entire church is being called upon to pray and intercede for the nation and the global community. We should also pray for wisdom for our leaders to find immediate solutions to these challenges.

These prayer and fasting sessions may be fused with any existing programme scheduled for the week.

All Area Heads and ministers are to get involved and organise these meetings at any convenient level that will yield the maximum result.

I want to use this opportunity to also encourage all members of the church to keep trusting God with the belief that He will respond to our prayers and bring relief to the nation.

While I admit that this message is coming to you in such a short notice, I hope that you
will bear with me as we all join hands in this all-important programme.

May the Lord pour on the church the spirit of supplication, and the burden to stand in the gap and build a hedge for the nation.
Yours in His-service,

ERIC NYAMEKYE (APOSTLE)
CHAIRMAN
