The Member of Parliament for Gomoa East, Desmond De-Graft Paitoo, has issued a stern warning to individuals involved in illegal sand winning activities along the Gomoa Fetteh sea defence.

Speaking during the Gomoa Fetteh Ahobakese Festival, Mr. Paitoo emphasized that both he and the government are prepared to take decisive action against offenders.

He stressed that authorities will not wait for disaster to occur before responding, urging the youth to stop these destructive practices immediately.

He called on traditional leaders, chiefs and elders to engage with the youth and educate them on the dangers of sand winning, warning that continued negligence could lead to irreversible damage.

District Chief Executive Magrate Naana Ackom , announced a planned police operation to tackle drug abuse in the district.

She revealed that law enforcement will conduct thorough sweeps from gutter to gutter to arrest individuals involved in the use of illicit substances, particularly red and wee.

She emphasized that the youth represent the future of Ghana, and Gomoa East will not stand by while their potential is destroyed by substance abuse.

The Mbratihene of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Otoo, joined the chorus of concern, urging the youth to desist from drug use before law enforcement is forced to intervene.
