Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has pledged full government commitment to implement recommendations from the committee that investigated the Ridge Hospital assault case.
Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Mr. Akandoh stated; “We assured the country that we would make the full content of the report available to the public, and we have done that. I can assure the public that we will see to the full implementation of these recommendations.”
He emphasized that the reforms will go beyond Ridge Hospital.
“Not only are we going to see to it that Ridge Hospital takes back its glory, but we will make sure that whatever work is done will have an impact on the rest of the health facilities we have in this country.”
The committee’s report revealed no medical evidence to support nurse Rejoice Tsotso Bortei’s claims of a shoulder dislocation or wrist fracture following the August 17 incident.
She was treated for pain and placed under psychological care.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to accountability, improved patient care, and health worker safety nationwide.
