The Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has announced the temporary closure of a key road section at Tema Port to allow for paving works at the GHACEM Traffic Light Intersection.
According to the Authority, the affected stretch, from the Central Gate to the Harbour Roundabout (Exit Lane), will be shut to vehicular traffic starting Friday, August 29, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. The road will be reopened on Monday, September 1, 2025, at 6:00A.M.
During the three-day closure, all vehicular traffic will be redirected away from the intersection, with the Port Security Department tasked to provide traffic control and guidance for smooth movement.
GPHA expressed regret over the inconvenience the exercise may cause but emphasized that the works are necessary to improve road safety and traffic flow around the port.
Management has therefore appealed to port users, stakeholders, and the general public to cooperate with the temporary traffic arrangements.
