Hearts of Oak continued with their impressive run with a comfortable 2-0 win over Eleven Wonders on Sunday night in the Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians ensured they returned to winning ways after splitting points on the road last week at Elmina Sharks.

Kosta Papic had Nuru Sulley fit and started the experienced centre back to pair Mohammed Alhassan.

In the early exchanges, midfielder Benjamin Afutu’s header from Fatawu Mohammed’s cross went above the goal post.

Four minutes later Victor Aidoo applied a header to Mohammed cross from the right which was aimed at the near post but he missed target.

Hearts were on top with their front foot football and it paid off in the 11th minute when Manaf Umar opened the scoring.

He connected a perfectly weighted cross from Fatawu Mohammed inside the box and the low grounder beat goalkeeper John Moosie- who applied

Eleven Wonders nearly snatched the equalizer five minutes from half time when Samuel Boakye went through two defenders before pulling the trigger but Richmond Ayi-between the sticks for Hearts of Oak-produced a super save to palm it away for a corner kick.

Before half time, Frederick Boakye Ansah tried his luck from distance but it was a rising effort.

Three minutes into the second, Victor Aidoo drilled in powerful shot with the outside of the his boot which  beat Moosie.

Hearts of Oak were never in trouble and could afford to bring on Patrick Razak and Abednego Tetteh.

The latter tried his lucky from outside the box but his effort was cushioned by a deflection on Tetteh Nortey.

Striker Abednego Tetteh was set up again by a free-kick which found his head but his attempt was off target.

Moosie had to be alert on his line to coolly collect Afutu’s header on a floated ball from Fatawu Mohammed.

Wonders tried to come back into the game but they looked disjointed in midfield and toothless in attack.

Some key players- including Salifu Ibrahim-failed to show up on the night at the Accra Sports Stadium.

It was second successive defeat on the road for the Techiman-based side after losing at the same venue to Inter Allies.
