Grace Ashly declares political stance; asks colleagues to stop being hypocrites

Gospel musician Grace Ashy has called out musicians and men of God who claim they do not belong to any political party in the country.

According to her, just like everyone belongs to a church in Ghana, so does everyone belong to a political party.

In an interview with Happy 98.9 FM’s Doctar Cann, host of ‘Showbiz Xtra’, the musician said, “All musicians and pastors in this country have political parties we belong to. But when you ask them, they’ll tell you they don’t vote and that is bad.”

She noted that pastors are the biggest hypocrites when it comes to this issue. “The same pastors who speak against lies will lie to you when you ask them of the political parties they belong to when they all vote.”

She believes every person is a political animal and aside from the everyday politics in our personal lives, every person in Ghana has a political party they support.

The musician who was not shy to declare her support for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), indicated that, she previously held a postion in the party. “I belong to the party with the red, white and blue colurs and once served as the secretary of the party in the Anyaa Sowutuom constituency.”

Grace Ashy is currently promoting her new prophetic single titled, ‘3mpangu’, which translates to ‘cast away’.
