Happy FM in partnership with Lakeside Marina Park has made a significant donation to support the activities and operations of the Mercy Social Centre.
The donation follows the successful execution of the annual Happy FM/Lakeside Marina Park Family Fun Run, held on March 6. As part of the event’s longstanding commitment to giving back, 25 percent of all registration proceeds are dedicated to supporting the Mercy Social Centre, an initiative the organizers have consistently upheld over the years.
The Centre received a wide range of essential items, including food supplies, toiletries, clothing, bottled water, beverages, and stationery, among other necessities aimed at improving the welfare of beneficiaries.
Leading the delegation was the Managing Director of Silver Star Tower, Salah Kwaku Kalmoni, who presented the items on behalf of the partners. In his remarks, he reaffirmed the commitment of the organizers to making a tangible social impact.
“This initiative goes beyond just a run, it represents our shared responsibility to support vulnerable communities. We are proud that the Family Fun Run continues to serve as a platform not only for health and recreation but also for meaningful change. Mercy Social Centre holds a special place in this journey, and we remain committed to sustaining this partnership for years to come,” he stated.
Director of the Mercy Social Centre, Mohammed Ibrahim Hussein, expressed profound appreciation to the partners for their unwavering support.
“We are deeply grateful to Happy FM and Lakeside Marina Park for their continued generosity and consistency over the years. Their commitment has been instrumental in helping us sustain our operations and extend care to those who depend on us. This donation will go a long way in improving the lives of the children and individuals we serve,” he said.
Also present at the donation ceremony were key stakeholders, including Events and Marketing Lead for Happy FM, Joel Sanco; Event Manager for Run Ghana, Richard Tetteh; Marketing Manager for Lakeside Estates, Isaac Ntiamoah; Operations Manager for Lakeside Estates, Samuel Searyoh; and General Manager for Advance Construction, Edward Dery. Mercy Social Centre Coach, Issaka Chintor, was also in attendance.
The Happy FM/Lakeside Marina Park Family Fun Run continues to grow as a flagship event that blends fitness, community engagement, and philanthropy, reinforcing the commitment of both brands to social responsibility and community development.
