Ghanaians need transformational mindset for development – General Marcus
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on Whatsapp

Ghanaian-UK-based reggae/dancehall musician Mark Tudzie known in the music circle as General Marcus has said that nothing is going to change for the better in Ghana if there is no change of mindset.

According to him, Ghanaians need mindset transformation to spur the development of the country else the desired growth would not be realised despite the country’s potential and resources.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Accra-based radio station Max FM stated that the current way of life in the country can only get worse and shall linger in that state if there is no change in the mindset of the Ghanaians.

“As a country we need to change our mindset, let me tell you the facts, there is no change; nothing is going to change; it can only get worse.”

He indicated that conflicts and disagreements have become the nation’s current interest but is not apt on doing something positive.

“Instead of concentrating on coming together and doing something positive when you view social media everything is fighting and beef,” he described.

Exposing the lapses that are responsible for the nation’s inability to progress mentioned the need for balance in the nation, “there should be a bit of balance; you go to East Legon or buy land there, they have asphalt roads already. The road at where I grew up, Bubiashie, they still bathe and throw the water away on the streets.”

General Marcus attributed these challenges to leadership which is the root of governance in the country and some cases, the citizens as well who tend to believe it is the job of one man to bring about development but rather should be a communal affair.

“Sometimes I blame the people as well; A drain cannot be constructed by one man it’s supposed to be a National affair,” he echoed.
