Former President, John Agyekum Kufuor has publicly endorsed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP), as his preferred candidate in the upcoming elections.

The former president in a recent interview cited by Happy kasiɛbɔ, reflected on his own tenure, noting that the qualities he values in a leader are those Dr. Bawumia exemplifies.

“Ghana needs a leader who will continue to foster unity and ensure inclusive development, and in my view, Dr. Bawumia has demonstrated that capacity” he said.

He explained that although he knows and respects the other candidates, he believes Dr. Bawumia is the best choice to lead the country especially with the current economic crisis.

“I don’t mean the other candidates are not capable. They do and I have a good relationship with them as well but looking at Bawumia, his work, the policies he wants to implement and his behavior over the years, I believe he is the one to take Ghana forward and I will vote for him” the former president emphasized.
