Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohonoh, has assured Ghanaians that the upcoming Akwatia by-election will be peaceful and successful.
Speaking to the media ahead of a stakeholder meeting with political parties and the Electoral Commission, the IGP urged all parties to contribute constructive ideas that will pave the way for a smooth electoral process.
He called on political parties to fully cooperate and actively participate in the engagement, while also appealing to the Electoral Commission to clearly outline the rules of the exercise to avoid disputes.
Present at the meeting were EC Deputy Chairpersons Dr. Bossman Asare (Corporate Affairs) and Samuel Tettey (Operations). The New Patriotic Party was represented by National Organizer Henry Nana Boakye and former Ayawaso Central MP Henry Quartey, while the National Democratic Congress was represented by Deputy Director of Elections Rashid Tanko Computer.
