Renowned Hiplife artist Okyeame Kwame has refuted claims suggesting his involvement in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s manifesto committee, maintaining his non-partisan stance and commitment to collaborating with political parties across the spectrum.

The controversy arose after Okyeame Kwame was listed among the fifteen members appointed to the New Patriotic Party’s Manifesto Committee for tourism, arts, and culture, alongside prominent figures such as Catherine Abelema Afeku and Claudia Lumor.

However, in a statement released and reported by happyghana.com, Okyeame Kwame clarified that he had not been officially appointed to Dr. Bawumia’s manifesto sub-committee, emphasizing his non-partisan and apolitical position throughout his career.

“I remain non-partisan and apolitical, as I have been throughout my entire career. I have not been paid by H.E. The Vice President’s campaign team to be a member of the committee for the arts and tourism manifesto nor have I officially been invited on my terms as a non-partisan participant,” he stated.

Declaring his dedication to serving Ghana’s creative industry, Okyeame Kwame expressed gratitude for being considered for such a role while reaffirming his openness to collaborating with any political party that seeks his expertise.

“In utmost humility, I wish to express my profound appreciation to His Excellency the Vice President’s Campaign Team, for thinking my experience and intellect is worthy enough for consideration…Indeed, when it comes to contributing policy opinion towards the advancement of the Arts and Culture in Ghana, I am respectfully open to all political or ideological persuasions,” he remarked.

The statement concluded with Okyeame Kwame reiterating his commitment to Ghana’s development and welcoming collaboration from all quarters while maintaining his non-partisan stance.
