Information Ministry to host Stakeholder Forum to review impact of Media Support Programs

Ghana’s Ministry of Information is set to organize a one-day Stakeholders’ Forum to evaluate the success of its Media Support Programmes, which were introduced in 2019.

The Ministry’s continued dedication to developing the public communications sector and tackling important issues facing the media industry is demonstrated by this event.

The Media Support Programs, which have been in operation for the past four years, aim to bolster the Media Industry’s capabilities and address critical issues. With a focus on enhancing the sector’s performance, the Ministry of Information will take a close look at the impact and implementation mechanisms of these programs over the medium term.

The Stakeholders’ Forum is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 2 p.m. The venue for the event is the Conference room of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) in Accra. The theme for this important gathering is “Assessing the Impact of the Media Support Programs.”

Participating institutions in the forum will include the National Media Commission, Ghana Journalist Association, Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA), and Public Relations and Information Officers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG).

“Having operated these programs over the last four years, the Ministry seeks to re-examine their impact and review its implementation mechanisms for the medium term,” the statement read.

The forum represents a significant step in the Ministry of Information’s ongoing efforts to support and strengthen the Media Industry. It offers an opportunity for constructive dialogue, feedback, and collaboration among key stakeholders.
