Interior Ministry imposes curfew on Bomaa Township

The Ministry of the Interior has announced an imposition of a curfew on Bomaa Township and its environs in the Ahafo Region.

The curfew hours, running from 11:00 PM to 4:00 AM, took effect from Tuesday, January 28, 2025, by an Executive Instrument.

According to the ministry, the government has urged Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and residents of the area to exercise restraint in facing its challenges, instead they should use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the region.

The directive also imposes a total ban on carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapon within Bomaa Township and its surrounding areas.

In a statement, the Ministry, warned that anyone found with ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.

IMPOSITION OF CURFEW ON BOMAA TOWNSHIP AND ITS ENVIRONS IN THE AHAFO REGION

The Minister for the Interior has by Executive Instrument renewed the Curfew hours imposed on Bomaa Township and its environs in the Ahafo Region from 11:00 pm to 4:00am effective Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

Government has thus urged Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them as well as to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.

Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the Bomaa Township and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon, and any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
