
President of the Ghana Basketball Association (GBA), Ato Van-Ess has commended global streaming platform, iUNGO World for using their platform to promote.
iUNGO World from Thursday April 10, to Saturday, April 12, 2025, partnered with GBA and Hooprave to stage the first ever SHS basketball competition.
The three day competition which was streamed live on iUNGO World featured over 16 Senior High Schools in Ghana who came to compete at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.
Speaking to Happy Sports after the competition, president of the Ghana Basketball Association, Ato Van-Ess said this competition has come to provide a unique platform for young talents to shine and also thanked iUNGO World for streaming the games live to put more spotlight on the players because the world needs to see that Ghana has good talents in basketball.
“This competition has come to stay and now our players will have the platform to shine and showcase what they have to the world. The national team will also get to scout talents for the future and I thanked iUNGO World for streaming this game to its global audience and we thanked them for that.”
CEO of iUNGO World, Jerry Johnson was also impressed with the attendance and the level of the competition he saw at the Bukom Boxing Arena while stressing that the project was too good to ignore.
“iUNGO World is a sports social media platform and we are glad to have come on board as partners for this competition because we are happy with what we have seen today and hope that next year’s own will be bigger.”
He also said iUNGO World is ready to collaborate with other sports, leagues , federations, countries globally and will be open to discuss with Ghana Football Association to telecast their games for them .
