Leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has urged President-Elect John Dramani Mahama to consider revamping Ghana’s market sector starting with the Kantamanto market.

Mr. Kyerematen stated earlier today, Monday January 6, 2025 during his visit to the victims of the Kantamanto fire where he expressed his deep condolence and extended support to the victims.

According to Mr. Kyerematen, a large percentage of Ghana’s population engages in active trading as a means to earn a living and therefore must be treated with the necessary importance. “Eighty percent of Ghana’s population are involved in trade and the distribution sector,” he shared.

He noted that after personally congratulating the President-Elect on his victory in the 2024 elections, he urged him to take a look at his Great Transformational Plan and align them to the vision of the incoming Mahama-led government. “This is a call to action for the incoming President John Mahama. After I congratulated him I shared my vision of the Great Transformational Plan with him which included the erection of modern market structures and a traders bank with a financial structure that will be available to aid Ghanaian traders in every sector.”
