Kofi Boakye not panacea to security lapse in the country-analyst

A political science lecturer at the University of Ghana(UG) has given a strong indication that Commissioner of Police(COP) Kofi Boakye is not a panacea to the security lapses being experienced under the New Patriotic  Party administration in the country
Dr. Samuel Owusu Mensah made this comment on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show with the sit-inn host Dr. Cann on Accra- based Happy FM.
The political scientist’s claim negates the numerous calls by the public for the return of the former Ashanti Regional Police Commander into mainstream policing since the assumption of office of the new Inspector-General of Police under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s led administration.
He said bringing back Kofi Boakye to mainstream policing will not serve any special purpose adding that if he is brought inn to mainstream service the success story at the end of the day will go to the Inspector-General of Police, David Asante Apeatu.
The back stops with the IGP, he knows the capacity of his men across the country’ he noted
The man is an experienced police officer who knows the capabilities of his men in uniform he said.
He stressed that the IGP knows what to do as leader of the service and COP Kofi Boakye may not be the panacea to the mounting security failures in the country.
He maintained that if he (Kofi Boakye) is given much role to play, the success will still come to the IGP as he(Boakye) cannot be singled out for commendation.
That is my view on him(Boakye), he may be a good officer but the credit will surely go to the IGP as pertains in very institution in the country.
