After months of anticipation, residents of Kotokuom and neighbouring farming communities in the Atwima Mponua District are calling on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, to officially open a newly constructed bridge that promises to transform their lives.
The bridge, built to replace a deteriorated structure was initiated after the Minister for Roads, Governs Agbodza ordered its closure during a visit in March.
In response, a swift reconstruction effort began, aiming to restore safe passage between key farming settlements like Kotokuom and Nyinawusu.
Local leaders, including the respected Nana Kofi Fofie and Member of Parliament Seth Osei Akoto has praised the project’s successful completion.
They now eagerly await its formal commissioning, which would not only symbolize progress but also unlock new economic opportunities for the district’s largely agrarian population.
To many, this bridge is more than a concrete structure. It’s a long-awaited promise of safety, accessibility, and economic revival.
The people are asking for the ribbon to be cut so they can take the next step forward.
