The Coalition of La Associations and the Ga Dangme Coalition Against Land Injustice will commence its protests on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, opposing what they see as unethical land seizures by political entities in the Greater Accra Region.

Their focus is on the Trade Fair land, which includes areas where Labadi Beach and La Palm Royal Beach Hotels are located. They claim that the original landowners have not received the legally mandated compensation.

The groups have also raised concern about the Prisons Service lands at Cantonments, where a private developer plans to redevelop the area and use part of it for private business.

At the same time, the Defence and Interior Committee of Parliament is set to visit the Ghana Prisons Service Barracks at Cantonments and the Prisons Service land at Roman Ridge in Accra on Tuesday to address the issues raised by the youth group.
