Former President John Mahama has successfully raised GH¢420,000 to pay for presidential form and filing fee.

The money was raised following contributions from National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament (MP) who support his ambition, supporters and well-wishers.

The fund was raised 24 hours after the campaign team of the ex-president asked for donation towards Mahama’s course.

“It’s a wrap. Within 24hrs, MPs4JM have successfully raised 420k for JM from supporters and well wishers. This movement is unstoppable. He’s coming back,” NDC MP for Kumbungu, Ras Mubarak, posted on Facebook.

The NDC last week announced that the party’s presidential primaries will be held on January 19, 2019.

The National Executive Committee (NEC), according to the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, set the cost of the presidential form at GH¢20,000 and the filing fee at GH¢400,000.
