New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, is urging party delegates to choose leaders who reflect the will of the Ghanaian people as the party prepares for its national delegates’ conference on Saturday, July 19.
In a Facebook post ahead of the conference, Mr Agyapong stressed the importance of selecting the right leaders to secure victory in the 2028 general elections.
He called on delegates to prioritize the voice of the grassroots, saying, “I urge you to make a decision that reflects the views of Ghanaians, especially the grassroots. They represent the voice of the people, and we must listen to them.”
Mr Agyapong, one of four contenders for the NPP’s flagbearer position, emphasized that the outcome of the conference would shape the party’s chances in the next election.
The former Assin Central MP, who made a strong showing in the 2023 delegates’ conference, joins former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and two other aspirants in the race for the party’s top spot.
The NPP is holding its national delegates’ conference in Accra, where delegates will elect new leaders to guide the party into the 2028 elections.
