Cosby Show alum, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, has died at the age of 54 following his capture in an ocean current.
The actor, who won the hearts of many as Theo Huxtable on the iconic sitcom, was reported missing while swimming off the coast on Saturday in Costa Rica.
According to local authorities, Warner was swept away by a strong current and could not be rescued in time.
Rising to fame in the 1980s for his role as the quick-witted and relatable Theo, Warner went on to enjoy a diverse career in film, television, music, and spoken word poetry. He earned critical acclaim for roles in Reed Between the Lines, The Resident, and American Crime Story, as well as a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word Album in 2015.
Tributes have poured in from fans and fellow actors, including former Cosby Show co-stars, who described Warner as a grounded, passionate, and thoughtful soul who brought depth and dignity to every project he touched.
