MultiChoice Ghana has refuted claims that it has agreed to reduce subscription fees for its DStv service, contrary to information shared by the Minister for Communications Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George.
In a press statement issued on Friday, September 5, the company stressed that while it continues to engage with the Minister to find an amicable solution that benefits all parties, no agreement has been reached on slashing prices.
“We will fully participate in the established Working Committee. However, we wish to clarify that MultiChoice Group has not agreed to a price reduction,” the statement read.
The clarification comes after public discussions around the affordability of pay-TV services in Ghana, with growing calls for price adjustments to ease the financial burden on subscribers.
MultiChoice reiterated its commitment to dialogue with government stakeholders but emphasized that any measures taken must not jeopardize the viability of the DStv service in the country.
