2020 Olympics Games bronze medalist, Samuel Takyi has revealed why he decided not to compete in the boxing qualifiers in Italy a few days to the start of the tournament.

Ghanaian boxers are yet to book their ticket to the 2024 Olympics Games in Paris after two failed attempts to qualify in both Senegal and Italy causing a lot of disappointments amongst Ghanaians.

Takyi is one of the boxers Ghanaians were hoping to see qualify for the Olympics Games in the Italy qualifiers and probably gone to win gold after winning bronze in the previous edition.

Speaking on his absence, Samuel Takyi in an interview with Ohene Bampoe-Brenya on Happy Sports said he didn’t go to Italy because there was an attempt on his life after his teammate threatened to stab him.
