The Member of Parliament for Abetifi and former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has dared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to name any individual who has contributed more financially to the party than he has.

In a viral video sighted by Happyghana.com, Dr. Acheampong, addressing party supporters ahead of the NPP presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026, said some may think he does not deserve to be the party’s flagbearer because he has not suffered enough.

However, he stressed that it would be impossible to compile a list of 500 dedicated party members without including his name.

According to him, he would be surprised if anyone in the history of the NPP including the late J.B. Danquah and Busia, has spent more money on the party than he has.

He disclosed that even former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, after winning the 2016 elections, acknowledged that Dr. Acheampong had contributed more to the NPP campaign than any other member.

Detailing his financial support, Dr. Acheampong revealed that during the 2024 elections, he personally funded 27 out of the 33 NPP parliamentary candidates in the Eastern Region, giving each GHS 100,000 monthly.

“I financed 27 out of the 33 NPP parliamentary candidates in the Eastern Region during the 2024 elections, giving each GHS 100,000 every month. I also gave GHS 2 million each to 26,000 NPP polling station executives in November, 2024,” he said.

He challenged his contenders and the entire NPP to name any individual who has invested more in the party’s success since its inception.
