The National Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has praised the Ghana Police Service for the level of security provided so far during the Akwatia by-election.
Speaking to the media after touring several polling stations in the constituency, Nana B noted that security arrangements had been satisfactory.
However, he stressed that the party’s major concern lies in the period of counting and collation of results, where tensions usually rise.
“Security so far so good, our concern usually regarding security will be during the counting and collation, that is where usually we have challenges. But so far we are okay with the security and as you can see there’s heavy deployment of Police personnel here and this is good,” he said.
Nana B further expressed confidence in assurances given by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, that the Akwatia by-election would remain peaceful and credible.
