The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly condemned reports of bribery and vote-buying during its parliamentary primaries in the Ayawaso East Constituency and has ordered the immediate commencement of investigations into the alleged misconduct.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Secretariat on Saturday, February 7, 2026, the NDC disclosed that its national leadership had been alerted to allegations that some aspirants attempted to induce delegates in order to influence the outcome of the internal election.
“The party vehemently condemns these actions in no uncertain terms, as they constitute a blatant violation of the values and principles of the NDC and undermine the reset agenda the party is championing,” the statement said.
The party announced that a comprehensive investigation has been launched, warning that any aspirant found culpable will face swift and appropriate disciplinary sanctions.
It further cautioned that the recurrence of such acts could attract more severe consequences, including the possible annulment of elections where credible evidence of inducement is established.
The statement, signed by the NDC’s General Secretary, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, reaffirmed the leadership’s firm commitment to protecting internal democracy and preserving the integrity of the party’s electoral processes.
