A member of the communications team of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described as laughable the attempts by the Minority in Parliament to court international attention with the fake ISIS report.
Mr. Asamoah Gyemfi said the claim by the Minority is much i do about nothing when it comes to the security of the nation.
Mr. Asamoah-Gyemfi made this comment as a panellist on the Happy FM’s socio-political programme called ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ hosted by Kwame Affrifa Mensah in Accra.
According to him, there have been several ISIS activities that have been foiled by the National security apparatus of the country.
He said for the NDC to come with this fake ISIS issue as a plot to court international attention is laughable.
He said he is aware of attempt of ISIS activities that have been foiled on the quiet by National Security.
What the NDC should have done as a responsible Minority in Parliament was to channel their concerns on the issue to the appropriate quarters for redress he noted.
He said the NDC is behaving like it is the only political party with the repository of knowledge when it comes to security issues in the country.
He commended the NPP Member of Parliament for Manysia North Constituency in the Ashanti region; Collins Owusu Amankwa for pledging to drag the NDC’s Member of Parliament for North Tong in the Volta Region, Samuel Okudjeto-Ablakwa to the Privileges Committee of Parliament.
According to him, the MP’s decision to drag his colleague MP to the committee will bring sanity onto the floor of Parliament.
