News reaching Happy 98.9FM indicates the incumbent Member of Parliament for New Juabeng South constituency in the Eastern Region, Hon.Mark Assibey-Yeboah has conceded defeat as his opponent Michael Okyere Baafi leads in 10 out of 11 polling stations.

Happy FM’s Eastern Regional correspondent, Okyeman, in an interview with Samuel Eshun on the GMABC election camp, revealed that the Electoral Commission is yet to make an official declaration on the result. However, it seems the incumbent has already conceded defeat.

“The Electoral Commission has not made a public declaration but in eleven polling stations’ results Michael Okyere Baafi is leading in ten polling areas while the incumbent is leading in only one polling station. He has conceded defeat but we await the Electoral Commission to officially announce”, he said.

It is being mentioned that the entire township of Koforidua is rejoicing over the decision taken by incumbent to gracefully accept defeat.

The NPP primaries to elect parliamentary aspirants is being held today. Voting has officially ended while counting of votes is underway.
