Several key incumbents have emerged victorious in the ongoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Primary, securing their positions for the upcoming elections.

The Member of Parliament for Adansi-Asokwa, K.T Hammond, has clinched victory in the primary, fending off competition from Samuel Binfoh Darkwa. Hammond secured 311 votes, while Darkwa garnered 125 votes.

The victory comes amidst pre-poll allegations by Hammond that Darkwa had employed tactics to intimidate his supporters, a claim vehemently denied by his contender.

Incumbent MP and Minister for Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has emerged triumphant in the Ablekuma West constituency. Owusu-Ekuful secured a commanding 817 votes, defeating her contender Roni Paa Kwesi Nicol, who polled 241 votes. Notably, 20 votes were rejected in this hotly contested primary.

Sylvester Tetteh has secured victory in the Bortianor Ngleshie Amafrom parliamentary primary. Tetteh garnered 590 votes, surpassing Vida Agyekum Acheampong, who polled 461 votes. Eric Kojo Kuranachie secured 34 votes.

The Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has won the parliamentary primary for the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency. Annoh-Dompreh secured 734 votes, outpacing Hayford Siaw, CEO of the Ghana Library Authority, who polled 228 votes. The result reinforces Annoh-Dompreh’s prominent role within the party.

In the Atiwa East Constituency, Deputy Finance Minister Abena Osei-Asare secured victory in the parliamentary primary. Osei-Asare polled 288 votes, defeating rivals Dr Banning, Eric Agyarko, and Adade Wiredu, who secured 11, 67, and 44 votes, respectively. Osei-Asare’s triumph reflects the diverse and competitive landscape of the party.

Francis Asenso-Boakye has emerged victorious in the Bantama constituency, securing 650 votes. Asenso-Boakye’s opponent, Ralph Agyapong, brother of Kennedy Agyapong, polled 186 votes.
