President John Dramani Mahama has announced that 33 corruption-related cases involving former government appointees are currently under investigation by the Attorney-General’s Office.
These cases stem from findings by the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Team, an anti-corruption task force established after Mahama’s 2024 election victory.
The five-member ORAL Team, led by North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, includes former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo, retired Police Commissioner Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, legal expert Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer and all recognized for their strong stance against corruption.
Their work has led to the transfer of key evidence to the Attorney-General’s Office for further scrutiny.
Speaking on June 3, 2025, during a meeting with the African Union Advisory Board Against Corruption, Mahama revealed that court proceedings for several cases would soon commence, with some prosecutions already underway.
He emphasized that special investigative teams have been assigned to probe each case, uncovering substantial evidence of illicit wealth acquisition.
This effort aligns with Mahama’s administration’s promise to combat corruption and ensure accountability in governance.
