Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has appealed to former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to step in and help resolve the growing internal tensions within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
His call comes amid reports of factionalism and power struggles within the party, as it prepares for its presidential primaries scheduled for January 2026.
Boamah stressed the importance of unity and the need for respected party elders to help restore calm.
“This party has produced two presidents. We are fortunate to have two former presidents alive.I am calling them to call for some action and order in the party because this party produced them. If we are going through this turmoil, we ask that they call people round the table and have a heart-to-heart chat with them.”
Additionally, Boamah has urged members of the New Patriotic Party to be mindful of their public statements, especially on digital platforms.
“The internet doesn’t forget. Whatever you say could be used against you, so be careful of your utterances”.
