Police arrests suspect seen in a viral video discharging firearm at Jamestown

On April 9, 2025, the Ghana Police Service carried out an intelligence-led operation resulting in the arrest of Samuel Aryeetey Kortor, a 29-year-old man featured in a viral video of him firing a gun at Jamestown, Accra.

Investigations revealed that Kortor is also wanted by the CID’s Homicide Unit for a murder case.

During a search of his residence in Gbese-Jamestown, authorities discovered a Beretta pistol with Serial No. PX-195994.

The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations as efforts continue to apprehend other suspects.

Information on the arrest was contained in a statement shared on Ghana Police Service’s Facebook page.
