The Eastern South Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into a violent incident that occurred on April 29, 2025, at Asiyaw, near Akwane-Dobro, Nsawam.
The tragic shooting left five men dead.
When police arrived at the scene, they discovered the lifeless bodies of five adult males, all bearing gunshot wounds.
A forensic team also recovered key evidence, including two vehicles (a Toyota Tacoma and a Toyota Tundra), a pump-action gun with 17 live cartridges, several spent shells, and five heavy-duty motorbikes.
Preliminary findings suggest the violence erupted following a dispute between two groups over sand mining activities in the area. Authorities are now working to track down those responsible for the attack.
The bodies of the victims have been transported to the Police Hospital mortuary for identification and autopsy as investigations continue.
The Ghana Police Service announced this in a statement on their Facebook page.
