Police on manhunt for group in a viral video threatening violence in the December 7 elections

Police on manhunt for group in a viral video threatening violence in the December 7 elections

The Ghana Police Service his on a manhunt for a group of people calling themselves NDC Youth of Obuasi, seen in a viral video threatening violence during the December 7th elections.

“The Ghana Police Service is on the lookout for a group of individuals calling themselves NDC Youth of Obuasi, who are seen in a viral video, threatening violence during the upcoming 2024 General Elections”.

According to the statement by the police, the act by the group is an offence that breeches the peace contrary to section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

“We wish to state that the behaviour of the group constitutes the offensive conduct conducive to breaches of the peace contrary to section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29)”.

The Police have commenced investigations.

“A Police operation is currently ongoing to have them arrested to face justice”.
