Former General Secretary for the Christian Council of Ghana, Reverend Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong, has vehemently expressed his thoughts on the country’s leadership, saying Ghanaian politicians are corrupt.

He said Ghana is now at the mercy of politicians who are engaged in malfeasance.

Reacting to Yaw Osafo Marfo’s call on Christians to lead the fight against corruption, he said the presidential adviser was just making “a political sound bite.”

In an interview, Rev Opuni stated that politicians benefit from the country through corruption.

“They have just made the corruption fight a political sound bite. They are all benefiting from it. Now going into politics has become business. They are all milking the nation. Therefore, if I found the government official just doing this when I heard iti n the room. It sound like a cliché”.

The presidential advisor questioned the effectiveness of the Christian teachings on 70% of Ghanaians who declare themselves Christians when addressing the 23rd General Meeting of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Kwahu Abetifi in the Eastern Region on Saturday, August 19, 2023.

Senior Presidential Advisor Yaw Osafo Maafo lamented the unchanging state of the country’s corrupt practices and urged all leaders, religious and political, to contribute their quota to stifle this canker.
