The Vice-Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, on Monday, August 10th, 2020, paid a courtesy call on the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs and was welcomed on behalf of the House by Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, President of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs.

On behalf of the delegation, Chairman Ofosu-Ampofo thanked the Chiefs for receiving the delegation.

He highlighted the Party’s outstanding track record for identifying talented Ghanaian women to serve the country and formally presented Prof. Opoku-Agyemang to the house.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang thanked them for their leadership in their communities.

The NDC Vice Presidential candidate also assured the chiefs, “In the NDC, our MPs and Parliamentary Candidates will continue to engage in a politics of ideas, promote national unity and development. It’s about time we put our country first. The time is now!”

She expressed appreciation for the counsel of the chiefs and asked for
their guidance and prayers throughout the campaign. Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI thanked her for making time to visit and expressed the willingness of the House to partner the NDC government for development.

“May GOD and our ancestors bless you for recognsing the need to see your landlords. Our collective desire is to see a prosperous nation.
Ghana must win”, he said.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang proceeded to call on the Shai-Osudoku Traditional Council. She expressed the Party’s wish to continue to partner the Traditional Council as they have done in the past to build the Ghana everyone wants.

She took the opportunity to formally introduce the NDC
parliamentary candidate Hon. Linda Akweley Ocloo to the Traditional Council.

The Chief of Dodowa Nene Tei Kwesi Agyemang V welcomed Prof. Opoku-Agyemang. He affirmed the Council’s commitment to working with her and the NDC to bring more development to the area.

“The NDC has always been concerned about the plight of my people. District assembly, hospitals, roads, street lights have always been the handiwork of the NDC,” he said.

She ended her visit with a tour through some principal markets in the constituency.
