Rawlings is politically immature – Political Science lecturer

A senior lecturer at the Political Science Department of the University of Ghana , Dr. Seidu Ali, has said that Member of Parliament for the Klottey Korle Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Rawlings level of political maturity is very low, making her unfit to be the running mate for Former President John Dramani Mahama.

His comments come on the back of suggestions from some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) that Zanetor Rawlings would be the best choice to partner the next presidential candidate of the NDC to win the 2020 elections.

But speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, Dr. Ali said “Zenator’s contribution to the NDC is not significant for her to become a running mate. Looking at Zanetor, her level of political maturity and contribution to the NDC as a political Party is minimal. Compare that to Spio-Gabrah, Dan Abodakpi and all the people who have come out to contest for the flagbearership position. These people have sacrifice for the Party, they are the ones more qualified to be a running mate.

He added that, she [Zanetor] if appointed as vice presidential candidate will add nothing new to the Party.
“If you pick Zanetor what is she going to added to the Party? People are thinking that she is relevant because when they pick her she is going to bring back the Rawlings or her father on board,” he said

It was reported that Zanetor Rawlings has been shortlisted for a running mate for ex-president Mahama when he [Mahama] wins the NDC flagbearership race.

However, former president Mahama’s campaign team described the running mate reports as false.

A statement from Mahama’s Campaign office signed by spokesperson James Agyenim-Boateng on Wednesday, October 7, 2018, asked the public to disregard the speculations.
