Real Plan Foundation has donated 500 pieces of face shield to the Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC) to aid the company in the coverage of the upcoming General Elections amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The donation was done at the premises of GMABC on Tuesday 1 December 2020 by officials from Real Plan Foundation.
The Public Relations Officer for Real Plan Foundation, Millicent Osei Ahenkorah said the donation is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility to ensure the safety of reporters during the election coverage.
Miss Osei Ahenkorah added: “Through the discharge of their duties during the coverage on election day, we want them to be safe and protected so they can deliver to the best of their ability”.
She also urged the public to refrain from violence and vote peacefully on 7 December 2020.
Receiving the items on behalf of GMABC, Programs Manager of Happy 98.9FM Mr Emmanuel Akrumah thanked Real Plan Foundation for thinking about the health of journalists during the pandemic by providing them with these protective gears.
