A dispute between GIMPA students and Rector Prof. Samuel Bonsu has resulted in hundreds of students, including final-year students, unable to register for their courses this semester.
The Rector has allegedly closed registration without engaging with departmental heads and student representatives, sparking outrage among students. Despite an extension of the registration period due to technical challenges in March, many students who had made full payments were still unable to register.
Students are seeking a more compassionate approach to address their difficulties, suggesting late registration penalty payments as a more reasonable solution.
The situation has raised questions about the Rector’s leadership style and his recent appointment to the Education Committee of the 2024 NPP/Bawumia Manifesto Committee.
