Residents demand overhead on Accra-Tema motorway to curb fatal accidents

Residents and commuters who regularly use the Accra-Tema motorway are issuing an urgent appeal to authorities to construct an overhead bridge to put an end to the alarmingly frequent accidents on the highway.

This call to action comes after a disturbing series of incidents, many of which have resulted in loss of life, due to speeding vehicles and reckless pedestrian behavior. The absence of a safe and designated crossing point forces residents to take a perilous risk by attempting to cross the busy motorway, where they are often struck by speeding cars. This has become a persistent and devastating pattern.

To address this critical issue, residents are also advocating for stricter speed limit regulations and enforcement for drivers using the Tema motorway, in addition to the construction of an overhead bridge.

They are appealing to the Ministry of Roads and Highways to take immediate action and build an overhead bridge on the Accra-Tema motorway, in order to prevent further accidents and save lives.
