A Russian court has fined Google two undecillion roubles—a two followed by 36 zeroes for restricting Russian state media channels on YouTube.

According to Russian media outlets, this unprecedented fine was imposed on the global tech giant for restricting the content of 17 Russian media channels on YouTube.

In dollar terms, the fine equates to approximately 20 undecillion dollars. An amount which will be written out fully as twenty thousand trillion trillion trillion.

Despite being one of the world’s wealthiest companies, this sum far exceeds Google’s estimated $2 trillion valuation.

In fact, it is also substantially higher than the world’s total GDP, which the International Monetary Fund estimates at around $110 trillion.

The fine has escalated to this extraordinary level as, according to the state news agency Tass, it continues to increase rapidly.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, speaking to Tass, admitted he “cannot even pronounce this number” but urged “Google management to pay attention.”

Google, per reports has not issued any public comment or request for a statement.

The company’s situation reflects a broader trend, as Google is not the only Western-owned firm to withdraw operations from Russia. Most Western companies ceased operations in Russia after its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
