Senyo Hosi, a member of the Coalition Against Galamsey, has voiced strong concern over the nation’s handling of illegal mining, warning that the pursuit of short-term gains is jeopardizing Ghana’s future.
Speaking on the issue, Mr. Hosi said Ghanaians appear to be ignoring the devastating long-term consequences of galamsey on the environment, water resources, and the livelihoods of generations to come.
“We are acting as if we don’t have a conscience,” he lamented, stressing that the crisis demands urgent reflection and responsible action.
He urged citizens to take a collective stance against galamsey, prioritizing the well-being of the nation over monetary gain.
“We should think about ourselves and the unborn generation, not just focusing on galamsey for money,” he emphasized.
