Stop undermining our MCE, fulfil your promises – Akyem Kotoku Krontihene tells Oda MP

The Krontihene of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, Obrempong Gyamfi Saforo Kyereh II, has cautioned the Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, to desist from sabotaging the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Solomon Kusi Brako, and rather focus on fulfilling his promises to the people.

Addressing a press conference in Akyem Oda, Obrempong Kyereh II accused the MP of spreading false allegations linking the MCE to illegal mining (galamsey) activities. He urged parliamentary leadership to step in and help resolve the growing tensions between the two leaders.

“The MCE is working tirelessly to improve the lives of our people. Spreading falsehoods and engaging in needless political confrontations only derail development,” the Krontihene stated. He stressed that such baseless claims risk stalling the municipality’s progress.

He further advised the MP to concentrate on his legislative responsibilities and cooperate with the MCE to advance the area’s development agenda instead of fueling internal disputes.

The comments follow escalating friction between the MP and the MCE over developmental and administrative issues within the municipality.

Meanwhile, the Concerned Youth of Akyem Oda have thrown their weight behind the traditional leader’s call, urging the MP to stop undermining the MCE. They praised Mr. Kusi Brako for his commitment to spearheading key development projects and appealed to President Mahama to ignore what they described as politically motivated attempts to tarnish the MCE’s image.

The youth also called on both leaders to put aside their differences and work together for the sustained growth and progress of Akyem Oda.
