Mrs. Veronica Theresa Casely-Hayford Benson, Chief Executive Officer of the Heavenly Gift of Joy Foundation, has underscored the crucial role of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (T-VET) in shaping the future of Ghanaian youth.

Speaking through her representative, Mr. Frederick Arthur, Mrs. Casely -Hayford urged students to take their T-VET education seriously, stressing that the program offers life-changing opportunities in an increasingly competitive world.

According to her, the global economy today is driven by technology and practical skills, giving those with ICT and vocational training a significant advantage.

She explained that T-VET goes beyond classroom theory, providing hands-on training in fields such as dressmaking, catering, carpentry, and other trades that are in high demand both locally and internationally.

Mrs. Casely-Hayford Benson noted that education should not only prepare individuals for white-collar jobs but also empower them to be self-sufficient. “T-VET equips young people with practical skills to become useful in society, support themselves, and contribute to their families’ livelihoods,” she said.

Established in 2012, the Heavenly Gift of Joy Foundation has worked to uplift the less privileged by providing opportunities that restore hope and dignity. Its mission, Mrs. Casely-Hayford emphasized, is to “put smiles on the faces of the needy while creating sustainable avenues for development.”

The foundation’s impact has been far-reaching. Recently, it graduated 50 beneficiaries from its scholarship program, awarding them certificates and start-up capital to launch careers in their chosen trades. The Heavenly gift of joy foundation further awarded certificates to all the graduates with start capital to establish themselves in their various fields of profession.

Finally, the Chief of Mepe a community within the north Tongu constituency in the Volta region Torgbe Nego IV thank and blessed the CEO of the foundation and her staff for giving such a great assistance to his people since the Akosombo dam spillage disaster till now and also helping the people in leaning a carrier which would forever build the livelihood of the people and their entire families.
