On Sunday, October 15th, the iconic gospel duo, the Tagoe Sisters, celebrated their 40th ministerial anniversary in the music industry with a magnificent gospel experiential concert held at the Accra International Conference Center.

The event was a star-studded affair, with the red carpet adorned predominantly in white with a touch of ruby red, mirroring the heavenly atmosphere of the occasion.

Talented young performers graced the stage to choreograph some of the timeless hits of the Ghanaian music duo, paying tribute to their remarkable career. The evening was filled with soul-stirring performances and heartfelt speeches from luminaries in the music industry.

Bessa Simon, the President of MUSIGA (Musicians Union of Ghana), shared heartwarming anecdotes about his early encounters with the Tagoe Sisters when he was a budding musician. His speech highlighted the lasting impact of their ministry on the gospel music scene in Ghana.

The Adom Stars from South Korea added a global touch to the celebration with an adorable performance, demonstrating the universal appeal of the Tagoe Sisters’ music.

The event also showcased the rising stars of Ghana’s gospel music scene, with Kofi Owusu Peprah and Abena Serwa Ophelia delivering heavenly performances that left the audience in awe.

Ghanaian sensational duo, Lali and Lola, brought a fresh blend of artistry to the angelic atmosphere, while the legendary Mary Ghansah took the stage to reintroduce the themed ambience that has been the hallmark of the Tagoe Sisters’ ministry.

The concert featured a lineup of influential artistes, including Pat Thomas and the charismatic Rev Yawson, both of whom left a lasting impression on the audience. Cece Tswum followed with a charming display of vocal prowess, keeping the audience captivated.

In addition to celebrating their music, the Tagoe Sisters used the occasion to raise funds for the Tagoe Sisters Foundation. A documentary chronicling the journey of the twin sisters was screened, shedding light on their remarkable life and career.

The sisters expressed their gratitude with their first performance of the evening and extended a lifetime appreciation to Francis Osei, who played a pivotal role in their lives by rushing them to the hospital after a tragic accident in the late ’90s. This accident claimed the life of their mentor, Rev. Francis Akwasi Amoako, while the young girls were still in their formative years.

Highlife artiste Kwabena Kwabena graced the stage with renditions of glorious sounds, followed by astonishing angelic singers Perez Musik and Nacee, who continued to uplift the audience with their melodious voices.

The evergreen Empress Gifty brought her unique flair to the celebration, and Akwaboah followed with a decent performance that resonated with the audience.

Even though the Daughters of Glorious Jesus were not physically present at the venue, they made a heartfelt virtual performance that paid homage to the Tagoe Sisters, expressing their deep respect and admiration for their colleagues as they were abroad for their music tours.

The grand finale of the evening was a captivating performance by Kwame Eugene, who crowned the show with the twin sisters, bringing the audience to their feet in celebration of four decades of heavenly music ministry by the Tagoe Sisters.
