The Kyidomhene of the Techiman Traditional Area, Ɔyeadeɛyie Assah Akompanin, has condemned the recent attack by some youth of Techiman in the Bono East Region on the convoy of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, as he returned from a funeral in Nkoranza.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Ohene Ameyaw Palace, Ɔyeadeɛyie Assah Akompanin emphasized that the Techimanhene and the Asantehene are both from the Oyoko clan, making them brothers who regularly visit each other. He clarified that there is no chieftaincy dispute between the two leaders, and the youth’s actions were not related to any such conflict.

He appealed to the youth of both Techiman and Asanteman to refrain from irresponsible social media posts aimed at showcasing the power of their respective kingdoms, which often leads to tensions. According to him, such behavior was the root cause of the unfortunate incident involving the Asantehene’s convoy.

Ɔyeadeɛyie Assah Akompanin urged the public to remain calm and continue their daily activities without fear, assuring them that the Techiman Traditional Council has resolved the matter with Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
