Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London on Tuesday morning to face five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, in connection with alleged incidents that occurred between 2021 and 2022.
Partey, whose contract with Arsenal expired at the end of the 2024/25 season, is currently a free agent. He arrived at court dressed in a dark zip-up sweater and carrying a suit jacket.
According to the Crown Prosecution Service, the rape charges involve two different women, while the sexual assault allegation concerns a third woman.
His legal representative, Jenny Wiltshire, previously stated that Partey “denies all the charges against him” and is eager “for the opportunity to finally clear his name.”
Police say the investigation began in February 2022, following a report of rape. Subsequent inquiries led to additional allegations being brought forward.
The court is expected to set a timeline for preliminary hearings and further proceedings in the coming weeks.
As the legal process unfolds, no verdict has been reached, and Thomas Partey remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
