A trailer carrying a load of assorted drinks from Accra to Dambai in the Oti Region has been involved in an accident on the Asukawkaw Bridge.

The crash occurred when the trailer’s head detached, but the driver managed to steer the vehicle to safety and fortunately emerged unhurt.

The incident caused extensive damage to both the trailer and its cargo.

According to Mark Oduro, the assembly member for the area, there were no casualties, although the truck was completely destroyed. The skeletal remains of the trailer have since been removed to Pai Katanga.

The Asukawkaw Bridge, known for its slippery surface, has been the site of several accidents, raising concern about its safety.

Residents are calling for urgent action from authorities to address the issue and prevent further mishaps.
