U.S. President Donald Trump has introduced new travel bans and restrictions affecting 19 countries, citing security concerns and immigration policies as the primary reasons.
The administration claims the decision was driven by weak traveler vetting systems, the presence of terrorist organizations, and high visa overstay rates.
Additionally, some nations were penalized for refusing to cooperate in accepting deported nationals.
Citizens from the following nations are now completely barred from entering the United States:
– Afghanistan
– Chad
– Equatorial Guinea
– Eritrea
– Haiti
– Iran
– Libya
– Myanmar
– Republic of the Congo
– Somalia
– Sudan
– Yemen
7 countries hit with visa restrictions while not fully banned.
Travelers from these nations will face limited or delayed visa processing:
– Burundi
– Cuba
– Laos
– Sierra Leone
– Togo
– Turkmenistan
– Venezuela
The policy takes effect June 9, 2025.
